About BEI

Our mission. Bioethics International’s (BEI) mission is to advance patient and global public health by improving the ethics, transparency, patient-centricity, and governance of healthcare innovation and delivery.

Our focus.  We focus on the ethics and governance of how medicines, vaccines, biologics, and devices are researched, developed, marketed, and made accessible to patients domestically and globally.  We focus on the issues that matter to patients the most.

What we do. To accomplish our mission, we:

  1. Map ethics concerns, about healthcare innovation and delivery that pose patient or global public health risks
  2. Identify best practices and develop standards, that can reasonably address perceived system problems
  3. Benchmark the performance of medicines, vaccines, and companies by standards and best practices
  4. Create reforms to help fix system problems that pose patient or global public health risks

Our scope. Our work addresses the roles of pharmaceutical companies, medical societies, hospitals, IRBs, pharmacy and therapeutics (P&T) committees, pharmacy benefits mangers (PBMs), patient advocacy groups, investors, contract research organizations (CRO’s), universities, and scientists in advancing patient and global public health and access to medicines.
