Research Associate – Pharma Ethics 

About the Role

We are seeking a Research Associate to support the Good Pharma Scorecard initiative and related projects on bioethics and patient centricity in the pharmaceutical industry. This role offers an opportunity to drive meaningful change in the sector by collecting data, analyzing trends, and contributing to publications that promote transparency, bioethical standards, and access to medicines. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze data, using mixed methods, on pharmaceutical company practices related to clinical trial design and transparency, access to medicines, and bioethical conduct
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining the analytical frameworks and metrics used in the Good Pharma Scorecard rankings and evaluations
  • Develop and assist with data visualizations and reports that communicate research findings to diverse stakeholders
  • Collaborate with and manage stakeholders, including academic researchers, policy experts, patient groups, and industry to interpret data and generate actionable recommendations
  • Monitor policy developments and pharmaceutical industry trends
  • Support the conduct of mixed methods research, including literature reviews, qualitative interviews, focus groups, and delphi studies with a variety of stakeholders, and data analysis on bioethical issues in medicine research, development and delivery
  • Support outreach efforts to increase awareness and adoption of the Good Pharma Scorecard
  • Support program management and execution of our annual multistakeholder roundtable w EY
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or advanced degree required, in bioethics, public health, health policy, health services, healthcare management, law, sociology, or related field
  • 2+ years of research or work experience 
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and statistical software
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry structure and clinical trials are a plus
  • Understanding of access to medicines issues, healthcare ethics, and ESG frameworks
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to methodological rigor
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively remotely during core hours of 9am-5pm Eastern time zone, travel for a weekly in person team meeting in Connecticut, and 3-4 other times a year as needed for events.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
